  • The COVID-19 pandemic has now claimed more than 900,000 lives in the United States, 100,000 of which occurred since December 13. During that period, Tennessee, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania have the largest number of deaths when adjusted for population. Of those states, Pennsylvania is the only one to have fully vaccinated more than 60 percent of its population. In a statement marking the death toll, President Biden called on the public to get vaccinated and estimated that the shots have “saved more than one million American lives.” (Articles here, here, here, here, and here)
