  • More than 70 Republican lawmakers asked the Biden administration to end the federal public health emergency for COVID-19. In a letter to the administration, they state that “our country is now in a much different situation than we were when the PHE was originally enacted” given the availability of vaccines and treatments. They also asked the administration to submit a plan to Congress by March 15 to unwind the emergency declaration, which is currently set to expire on April 15. (Articles here and here)
