- The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that basic monthly Medicare premiums for Part D prescription drug coverage are estimated to be $31.50 next year, a 1.8 percent drop from this year. CMS released the rates, along with other information such as the Part D national average monthly bid amount, to help Part D plan sponsors finalize their premiums and prepare for Medicare Open Enrollment.
