  • The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is reportedly “looking very closely” at protecting abortion access for veterans. VA Secretary Denis McDonough said that the agency will ensure that veterans can access the “full slate of that care,” but declined to provide specifics in response to a letter from 24 Senate Democrats calling for abortion services at VA facilities. McDonough also said that Senate Republicans’ amendment to place “a year-on-year cap” on what the VA can spend on care for those exposed to toxic burn pits could result in the agency having to “ration care for veterans.” (Articles here, here, and here)
