  • The American Medical Group Association (AMGA) sent a letter urging Congress to block the 10.4 percent Medicare cuts to provider reimbursement scheduled for 2023. According to an AMGA survey conducted on August 29, 65 percent of member medical groups and health systems said that they would be forced to eliminate services or enact other cost-saving measures if Congress does not take action to block the Medicare cuts. AMGA President and CEO Jerry Penso, MD, said the health care system is already facing tremendous challenges and these cuts would compound the strain. (Press release here)
