- Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. is in active discussions with drug and biotech manufacturers as it moves forward with its plans to launch its first clinical trial before the end of 2022. Walgreens has partnered with the medical data company Pluto Health to access medical records, in addition to leveraging its own database of pharmacy customers to identify potential patients that are eligible for trials, moves that it says will help boost diversity and recruitment efforts in medical research.
