  • A new deal on COVID-19 funding is in doubt after top Republican senators questioned the need for additional funding. Senator Richard Burr pledged to be a “roadblock” until the officials provide sufficient justification that the money is needed. Senator Mitt Romney said the Biden administration’s contention that it is unable to purchase more vaccines, treatments and supplies is “patently false.” pointing to a new White House plan that would redirect existing funds to cover those costs.
