- The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced it has approved postpartum coverage expansion plans for three additional states plus the District of Columbia. The approvals to Maine, Minnesota, New Mexico bring the total number of states that have expanded coverage to 14, plus the District of Columbia. In total, nearly 253,000 Americans now have access to 12 months of postpartum coverage through Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) extension. (Press release here)
