Mental Health
  • The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) posted a readout of Secretary Xavier Becerra’ roundtable discussions on the impact of social media on youth mental health. During the roundtable, local policymakers, students, and parents discussed how social media platforms can promote unhealthy social comparisons and enable harassment and cyber bullying. When asked what policymakers can do to make social media platforms safer for young people, Secretary Becerra pointed to the administration’s National Center of Excellence on Social Media and Mental Wellness. The center will disseminate information, guidance, and training on the impact of social media on mental health. (Readout here)
