  • The Biden administration released a new proposal whereby immigrants seeking permanent residency in the U.S. would not have Medicaid coverage used against them. The proposed rule would replace the Trump-era “public charge” policy, which allowed federal officials to consider the potential use of public programs when evaluating immigrants’ applications and significantly chilled their enrollment in Medicaid.
