- President Biden called on the Senate to pass his Build Back Better legislation, which includes provision to reduce prescription drug prices. Biden stated that the package would “bring down the cost for average families” and “will not increase the debt,” which one of Senator Joe Manchin’s chief concerns that has stalled the package. Senators Bernie Sanders and Amy Klobuchar called on Senate Democrats to bring up a bill to lower drug prices in that chamber this week, saying they wanted to force a debate.
