  • The Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) released three briefs examining various aspects of Medicare Advantage (MA). The first brief analyzes the latest data on MA enrollment, revealing that nearly half of eligible Medicare beneficiaries – 28.4 million out of 58.6 million Medicare beneficiaries overall – are now enrolled in MA plans. A second brief describing MA premiums and benefits found that nearly all MA enrolls have access to some benefits not covered by traditional Medicare. A third brief examining trends in bonus payments to Medicare Advantage plans found that federal spending on MA bonus payments has increased every year since 2015 and will reach at least $10 billion in 2022.
