  • Digital mental health startups that sprang up during the pandemic would lose the ability to prescribe medicines remotely under a proposed rule from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) that would restore the pre-pandemic requirement that patients visit clinicians in person to obtain prescriptions for drugs such as Adderall and Ritalin. The comment period on the DEA’s proposal closed last Friday, leaving companies wondering whether the agency will modify the rule to address their concerns. These companies, which have limited funds and leaders with little to no experience managing in-person health care, could have difficulty adapting to the new regulation. (Article here)
