  • Oklahoma lawmakers passed a six-week abortion ban yesterday that allows private citizens to take civil action against abortion providers or anyone who helps a woman obtain an abortion. The bill provides exceptions will be for medical emergencies. The passage comes amid a movement by Republican-led states to severely curtail the procedure and as Oklahoma’s legislature ramps up its push to restrict abortion rights.
