- The CDC issued an alert about a mysterious cluster of hepatitis cases in young children amid an investigation with the Alabama Department of Public Health. The state reported that nine previously healthy kids ages 1 to 6 ended up in the hospital with liver injuries, two of whom needed liver transplants.
