  • Kaiser Permanente announced plans to double the size of its efforts to address housing instability with another $200 million. Since the Thriving Communities Fund’s inception in 2018, the initiative has preserved or produced more than 7,000 affordable housing units across the U.S. and is on track to hit 15,000 by 2025. Kaiser said that doubling the fund will create or preserve 30,000 units before 2030, while also advancing inclusive economic development in communities to address systemic economic disadvantage and discrimination that underpin the housing crisis.
