  • President Joe Biden will outline a plan to improve conditions in nursing homes during his State of the Union speech tonight. Efforts will include setting minimum staffing levels, phasing out the use of shared rooms, increasing oversight and penalties for low-performing facilities, and scrutinizing the role that private equity ownership plays in driving poor outcomes and high costs.
