Meanwhile, Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy said that the Omicron-fueled COVID-19 cases haven’t yet peaked in the U.S. and that “the next few weeks will be tough” in parts of the country as hospitalizations and deaths continue to rise, even as cases begin to fall in the Northeast.
