  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that it is “very unlikely” the Pfizer omicron booster carries a risk of stroke for seniors. According to a CDC spokesperson, the Vaccine Safety Datalink detected that 130 of the 550,000 seniors who received the booster had a stroke within 21 days of receiving the shot. After reviewing several other data sources – including the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Vaccine Adverse Reporting System, and Pfizer’s global safety database – CDC investigators did not find a correlation. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) panel of independent vaccine experts will discuss the investigation at a meeting on January 26. (Articles here, here, and here)
