  • The Supreme Court voted to allow a Texas law banning nearly all abortions to stay in place after it went into effect Wednesday. In a 5-4 vote, the majority said abortion providers and others who filed an emergency appeal to block the measure hadn’t met the high burden required for a stay of the law. Reproductive rights advocates said they would bring other legal challenges to the law, which is the most restrictive law limiting women’s access to abortion procedures in the country.
