  • Several Democrat Senators sent a letter asking the Department of Justice (DOJ) to consider possible criminal charges for Sackler family members on top of the department’s previously resolved civil and criminal investigations into Purdue. The senators noted that as part of the DOJ’s 2020 settlement with Purdue Pharma, the agency reserved the right to bring criminal charges against individuals. “Real justice in this case means holding individual lawbreakers criminally accountable,” they wrote.
