  • President Biden said that Dr. Francis Collins, former director of the National Institutes of Health, will temporarily serve as his chief science adviser, replacing the ousted Dr. Eric Lander. Collins will serve in the role until a permanent adviser is named. Alondra Nelson, deputy director for science and society in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, will temporarily lead the office. (Articles here and here)
