  • The FDA authorized Pfizer Inc.’s Paxlovid for high-risk patients 12 and older, making it the first antiviral pill to treat COVID-19 in the United States. Even so, it will likely be months before the pills are widely available. Jeff Zients, coordinator of the White House’s COVID-19 response team, saying the government will have 265,000 courses of the treatment in January and 10 million courses by late summer.
