  • The American Dental Association (ADA) is pushing back against Democratic lawmakers’ plan to include dental benefits in Medicare through the $3.5 trillion budget bill. The ADA says that Medicare won’t cover their costs and that time-consuming paperwork and low reimbursements could cause less providers to participate in the program, leaving seniors and disabled people searching far from their homes for a dentist who accepts Medicare. The ADA is pushing for another plan that would only offer dental coverage to the poorest beneficiaries, putting it at odds with smaller dental trade groups and the AARP. (Article here)
