- Starting today, Americans will be able to buy lower-cost hearing aids without a prescription or medical exam. The White House said that Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. and Walmart Inc. locations are stocked with lower-cost hearing aids, while CVS Health Corp. will begin selling the products online today and, in some stores, starting next month. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a final rule in August allowing the over-the-counter sales, which officially takes effect today.
