  • A CVS Health/Harris Poll revealed that more than half of all Americans have directly felt the effects of health care worker shortages. Forty-five percent of the 2,000 adults polled February 10-15 said they had trouble scheduling appointments. Thirty-three percent said their doctor was operating on reduced hours, 25 percent said they had treatments or surgeries delayed, and 20 percent said their doctor had stopped practicing. The shortages are particularly concerning given that more than 40 percent of respondents said they are reconnecting with the health system and reassessing their care after pandemic lockdowns and restrictions.
