Mental Health
  • A new study from the Pew Research Center found that kids’ mental health is now parents’ biggest concern. Forty percent of parents said they are extremely or very worried that their kids will struggle with anxiety or depression. Parents also reported being extremely or very worried about their kids being bullied (35 percent) and being kidnapped (28 percent). Mothers are significantly more likely than fathers to worry about mental health and physical safety. There are also differences by income and by race and ethnicity. For example, lower-income and Hispanic parents generally more likely than other parents to worry about their children’s physical safety, teen pregnancy, and problems with drugs and alcohol.
