  • The Biden administration issued a new rule reinstating school nutrition standards that were rolled back during the Trump administration. Under the new policies, schools and child-care are required to offer low-fat or nonfat unflavored milks, limit the fat in sweet-flavored milks, ensure at least 80 percent of the grains served in school lunch and breakfast each week must are rich in whole grains, and decrease the amount of sodium in school breakfasts and lunches by 10 percent for the 2023-2024 school year.
