  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended a booster dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine in children ages 5 to 11. The decision came hours after its independent vaccine advisory panel voted 11-1, with one abstention, to recommend the booster dose and two days after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) expanded Pfizer-BioNTech’s emergency use authorization for its pediatric product to include a booster shot.
