Inequities and SDOH
  • Yesterday, the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) co-hosted a webinar examining persistent racial disparities in cancer care. A panel of oncologists, a patient advocate, and policy researchers discussed how inequities in socioeconomic factors and other determinants of health and bias among medical providers contribute to disparities and examined a range of actions at the patient-provider, health system, and policy level to achieve equity in care and outcomes. The event also featured the release of a KFF brief presenting the latest data on racial cancer disparities and discussing the multiple factors that drive them. (Webinar recording here; Brief here)
