  • Humana announced it will divest 60 percent of its stake in Kindred at Home’s hospice business to an investment firm. The $2.8 billion cash deal is expected to close in the third quarter of this year. Once it closes, Kindred at Home Hospice will be reconfigured as a standalone business. Humana intends to use the funds from the deal to pay down debt and repurchase shares. The payer does not expect the sale to have a material impact on its earnings for this year. (Press release here)
