  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a new report examining the magnitude of distress the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the health of American teenagers. The CDC developed a one-time, online survey, which 7,770 high school students took between January–June 2021.The teens reported high levels of mental distress, risky health behaviors, economic instability, and abuse. Four in 10 reported that they feel “persistently sad or hopeless” and 1 in 5 said they have contemplated suicide. (Report here; Articles here, here, and here)
