  • A survey conducted by Rand Corporation found that the 53 percent of U.S. patients prefer a traditional in-office visit over a video visit for nonemergent care. Sixty-seven percent of participants preferred at least some video visits in the future. Participants indicated that cost and perceived value influenced their preference. Among those who preferred an in-person visit, 24 percent switched to a video visit when told the in-person visit would be more expensive. Among those who initially preferred a video visit, only 19 percent still preferred a video visit and 62 percent switched to an in-person visit when told the video visit would be more expensive.
